Baby elephants are even cuter than the gentle giants we all know and love. It’s past time to express our gratitude to these fuzzy-headed adorable animals that will eventually become the mammoths of tomorrow.
Elephant calves are typically born weighing 250 pounds and standing 3 feet tall. They’re clumsy for about three months after birth and have little control over their trunks, which they frequently trip over. As if that wasn’t enough of a hustle, calves typically consume three gallons of milk per day, a habit they can maintain for up to ten years. That’s a tall order for any mother of a wild animal! Male elephants leave the herd after about 12 years, but female elephants stay with their families for life, which is great news for elephant parents who can’t bear the thought of their adorable elephant daughters leaving the nest.
We can share the cutest Dumbos with you thanks to wildlife photography experts. Check out our collection of adorable animals below, and please share with anyone who might need a few floppy ears to get through the day.
