If you’re being responsible and following the lockdown rules, you probably only leave your house when you have to. Since most places for fun have closed and events have been canceled, there aren’t that many places left to go. But garbage day still works as well as it used to. People quickly realized that the only time they could go outside without feeling bad was when they were taking out the trash. Some people in Australia have chosen to dress up when they take out their trash to honor this important event.
Danielle Askew, from Queensland, made a bet with her friend that she would dress up in her most fancy clothes while taking out the trash. ” My friend posted a meme on her Facebook page that said, “Day 6 of being alone, happy that it’s trash night and I can go out.” I dared her to dress up for it, and she said she would. Danielle started a Facebook group called Bin Isolation Outing, and thousands of people joined. She said, “I made the page to make my friends laugh because I live to make people laugh.” The woman didn’t think the group would become so popular, but she’s glad that it made people laugh during these hard times. Danielle said, “I can’t believe how popular it has become.” “I think people just need a reason to smile, a reason to get dressed up, and a reason to look forward to the next day.”
Now, the group has more than 220,000 fans who are sharing pictures of the fancy clothes they wore for this special bin-handling event. Below, you can see some of the best ones.
