Millions of dogs and cats are homeless in Turkey. Most of them have been created for the street, but it is also increasingly common to locate abandoned pets. Unfortunately, individuals have a tendency to keep their precious pets in the hills and desolate areas, because they believe that it is much harder for the animals to check out. This means that the pets are more likely to struggle to find food and water, and they are frequently exposed to harsh weather. they remain at risk of attacks by unwelcoming communities and dog catchers.

Thankfully, during my last day in Turkey, we met an incredible woman named Nuray, who’s devoted her life to saving stray dogs here.

Nuray especially drives as much as the hills of Sapanca, Turkey, where a huge selection of stray dogs live with very little access to water and food. Going back a decade, she’s been feeding and caring for animals. It takes her about 2 hours to push through all her stops, and she performs this almost every evening after work.
