Images evolved into a completely distinct art form in the twentieth century. Unlike today, very few people in the previous century were considered first-rate photographers, and even fewer had the opportunity to photograph critical people. Philippe Halsman is one of the photographers who had the opportunity to photograph many of the twentieth century’s most well-known figures. This Latvian photographer photographed Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Muhammad Ali, Salvador Dali, John F. Kennedy, Albert Einstein, Alfred Hitchcock, and many others. Halsman’s photographs were associated with a number of well-known people. Scroll all the way down to see 20 photos of one of the world’s most talented portrait painters at work.
