Hank’s owners abandoned him in the woods, which is a very sad story. Hank was only 8 months old when a local homeowner found him sitting on a bolster bed with an unopened bag of food and toys next to him. No one knows how long he’s been there.

When a good-hearted person worried about Hank’s well-being and went up to him, the puppy didn’t respond. It was as if its heart had been shattered, as if it couldn’t find happiness because his owners had left him. When the man found the dog, he didn’t hesitate to call the local animal shelter. The shelter sent out a rescue team right away.

Humans and Animals United has posted updates about Hank’s journey on social media, saying, “We would like to thank everyone who has been a part of his rescue story so far.” They reassured people who were worried that Hank is in good hands and will never be hurt again. HAAU gets a lot of requests to adopt Hank, and when the time is right, the organization will choose the best person to care for him.

The people who worked at the shelter remember Hank as being the cutest and most calm during their time with him.

The group said this about Hank’s early days with them: “He is as sweet as they come!” Only an 8-month-old puppy has been through so much so far. Once he knew he was going to the animal hospital, his tail started to wag. We can’t think of any reason why someone would leave him in the woods with his bed, toys, and food when he had a broken leg. Whoever you are, please know that Hank is now safe and will never be hurt again.

When he was finally safe, he showed how much he cared about people.

The people who work for the organization are happy that so many people want to help Hank get a second chance in life: “This world has so many good-hearted people… It’s so great to see everyone come together for this little one. All of our rescues are done as a team, which is why we are called “Humans and Animals United.”

Hank was then taken to a veterinary professional and extensively inspected

The doctor found out that the dog’s leg had been broken for more than 2 weeks.

Painful fracture kept him immobile. The shelter called Humans and Animals United for help with Hank’s surgery.

Humans and Animals United posted on social media about how Hank was found and said, “Hank has been staying at the Veterinary Hospital to gain weight before surgery because he was so thin.” The surgeon thinks that the leg was broken for more than two weeks and that he was left in the woods for two weeks.

Hank was going to have surgery on October 24th. Before the surgery, members of “HAAU” Rescue went to see Hank to take pictures of him so that people could keep track of how he was doing while he was waiting for the surgery. They also spent some time with him because the rest of the crew loves Heroic Hank’s positive attitude, even when bad things happen.

On October 28, the organization gave a happy update on Hank, saying, “Our boy had his first surgery and is doing so well! It will take him a while to get better. He is still very thin, and you can see his bones. He is staying in a temporary home right now, but soon he will move to a great foster home where he can continue to heal. Since so many people care about Hank, we’ll keep everyone up to date.
